To stop the auto-scrolling, click once anywhere on the image.  To scroll the image, simply click and hold the mouse button and drag your mouse to the left or the right while the crosshairs is selected on the toolbar.  To zoom in or out, simply select the "+" or "-" button from the toolbar and click and hold the mouse button over the spot you wish to zoom.  To resume the auto-scrolling, press the square button on the toolbar.
