This newly completed mountain gem is located less than 12 minutes from downtown Estes Park and looks right into the Rocky Mountain National Park yet feels secluded and remote from the hustle and bustle of the seasons. Windcliff is located just 5 miles outside of Estes Park just across from the YMCA of the Rockies on the sunny, western-facing slopes of Ram’s Horn Mountain. Private trail heads lead straight from the neighborhood into Rocky Mountain National Park and Roosevelt National Forest. The Armstrong Log Home commands a front-row seat which offers 360º views of it all!
The Armstrong Log Home is the realization of a mountain log home dream. The Armstrongs situated their home to be easily accessible year-round but high enough to command views of the major peaks of the front range. From the front porch, relax in protected shade and cover as you peer out inventorying the peaks: Rams Horn Mountain, Twin Sisters, Lily Mountain, The Aspen Brook Valley, Estes Cone – is that a sliver of Long’s Peak we see there!? – McHenry, Powell, Taylor, Thatchtop, Otis, Hallet, Flattop, Stone, Trail Ridge, Ypsilon, Hague…they are ALL in your eyes’ grasp – and a glass of vintage in your hand’s grasp. Relax. You’ve arrived at the top of the world!
Stacked With Features
The Armstrong home is completely new from foundation to roof – every log carefully selected, sized, trimmed and stacked on the last – a testament to age-old artistry and tradition. But the home is packed with all necessary modern amenities: Stainless GE appliances, solid-surface countertops, custom natural wood cabinetry, and a massive kitchen island loaded with all the accouterments.
A wood-burning river-stone fireplace holds court over the cozy, leather-seated great room adorned with massive log beams and a staircase leading to a seemingly endless upper loft. The loft offers lounging, game tables and an executive desk tucked into a private glazed nook for the vacationer who cannot completely cut away from work demands back home.
Returning down to the main level, you’ll discover a hall bath which also houses full-sized, stacked washer/dryer. A guest bedroom abeam the hall bath offers a queen-sized bed, dresser and two windows offering northerly views of the Mummy range. At the end of the main level is the king bed master suite with ensuite bath, double vanity and shower.
Descending the wooden staircase are two additional bedrooms. One offers two pair of twin bunks and the other another queen-sized bed and window offering Southwestern views of the front range. Rounding out the lower level is a generously sized family room complete with leather sofas, massive HDTV entertainment system and a pool table with plenty of room to run the table from break to sinking the 8-ball.

A SPECIAL CONSIDERATION: Although Estes Park [Rocky Mountain National Park’s gateway community] is only 15 minutes distant by car, you will always feel securely tucked away at The Armstrong Log Home — separated from the “hustle and bustle” of people and their traffic. The Windcliff enclave embracing the Armstrong Log Home is a private residential community comprising 260 acres on the sunny western slopes of Ram’s Horn Mountain. It is served by a single entrance to private roads with no through streets or heavy traffic. It is truly a world apart!

Additional Taxes: 3.56% State sales tax plus 2% Local Marketing District tax
Taxes and fees are computed in addition to the base rate. Fees include $69 non-refundable damage protection fee on all reservations and $175 cleaning fee on all reservations. Must be 25 or older to make a reservation.
