Architects and builders may have hand crafted this enchanting condominium vacation home, but it is the setting that makes it — as the word “Divine” is characterized in the Oxford Dictionary — “more than humanly excellent!”
Nestled on the westward-facing slopes of Ram’s Horn Mountain in Estes Park’s exclusive Windcliff Estates, “Divine” lives up to its name in countless ways. Enter the intricately-carved front door to be greeted by the soaring visage of Longs Peak looming through the sliding glass doors before you. You will be drawn instantly to the great wrap-around deck embracing your new home. Longs Peak, Wheeler, Hallet’s, Flattop, Little Matterhorn, Chapin, Chaquita, and Ypsilon are the dominant peaks in your view that anchor the Rocky Mountains in Rocky Mountain National Park. The horizon they carve against the blue Colorado sky is the Continental Divide of the United States. Strive to wrap your mind, your eyes, and your heart around the majesty of it all. Shake hands with the towering Ponderosa standing at attention just off the deck. You will be spending a lot of time out here — relaxing, conversing, counting wildlife, tending the grill, raising a toast, or maybe even sleeping with only the stars for a blanket.
Amenities abound at “Divine.” A massive gas log fireplace dominates the living room and awaits your simple turn of the dial to bring the living room to warm, cozy life. A flat-screen (Satellite HDTV) TV with home theater stands at the ready — should you ever choose to turn it on. The master suite is beautifully adorned in a western theme and the en-suite bath boasts both a Jacuzzi and a shower. Another well-appointed bedroom and a bunk room (with massive, stacked double beds) round out the sleeping accommodations. The beds are freshly-made and the towels are hung at the ready. Each bedroom has private access to the outdoors for your first breath of mountain air each morning. The kitchen/breakfast bar is spacious enough to host both the preparation of your favorite vacation fare and the friends and family who naturally gravitate to this special space. The dining room seats eight at a rustically-hewn mission table. An elegant painting hangs on the dining room wall. It features a tilted wine glass welcoming a swirling pour of Claret. A decorative rack nearby holds a notable collection of wines — the beloved D’Vine Wine Exchange. Perhaps there is a fine flask of Louis Jadot Beaujalais-Villages or a hearty Montepulciano in the selection. If so, enjoy them at will. Simply replace them with vintages equal or better.
“Divine” overlooks Windcliff’s Buser Park, a stunning promontory with an overview of the Rockies second-to-none. And, it’s only a 20-minute walk from your mountain retreat to Windcliff’s private entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park where a beckoning trail winds along the valley of Aspen Brook in its meandering course down from the Tahosa Pass. And, if you find time, this beautiful trail is but one of over 350 miles of hiking trails in Rocky Mountain National Park tracing pathways to sky-mirror lakes, glaciers, and summits. And, Aspen Brook is but one in the multitude of 450 miles of rock-strewn streams stumbling down the mountainsides in waterfalls and cascades to the delight of the Park’s wild inhabitants and mankind alike. The main entrance to the National Park is under fifteen minutes away from “Divine” by car.
You will fill the diary of your heart with thousands of words of happenings, sightings, and inspiration. But, if you could utter only one word to describe this mountain retreat and the time you spend here, it would surely be — “DIVINE.”
A SPECIAL CONSIDERATION: Although Estes Park [Rocky Mountain National Park’s gateway community] is only 15 minutes distant by car, you will always feel securely tucked away at “Divine” — separated from the “hustle and bustle” of people and their traffic. The Windcliff enclave embracing the Divine residence is a private residential community comprising 260 acres on the sunny western slopes of Ram’s Horn Mountain. It is served by a single entrance to private roads with no through streets or heavy traffic. It is truly a world apart!
