Serenity 3D Tour
Serenity Home Description
A residence wholly reflective of the term “mountain architecture” is surely the ideal home away from home while you tarry in the mountains. “Serenity” is precisely that. This beautiful duplex townhouse is perched upon a magnificent mountain-view site within the confines of prestigious Windcliff Estates. It was designed by Ron Ruegge, an architect whose credentials include scores of mountain masterpieces. It was built in 2009 with impeccable precision by Don Darling, a craftsman of note in these mountain environs. Serenity stands proudly on its perch on the slopes of Ram’s Horn Mountain. The trailhead of an ascending path that leads to the summit of the Ram’s Horn is just outside your front door. Within the first 100 yards you enter the wonderful 1,271 square miles of Colorado wilderness denoted as America’s Roosevelt National Forest. Here flow the streams that feed the Big Thompson and the Cache la Poudre rivers. And, you are only about 300 yards from Windcliff’s own common boundary with Rocky Mountain National Park. There, awaiting your discovery, exploration, and enjoyment, are the 415 square miles of one of America’s most-cherished National Parks. Serenity faces due west towards the towering ramparts of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains as they form both the Continental Divide and the very backbone of the Park. You have found the perfect base from which to experience the multitude of offerings at hand.
Come inside Serenity. One guest has said, “We walked inside and we were in awe!” Vast windows in the western wall usher the outside in. The mountains feel as if they are part of the décor. Etched glass, slate, stone, tile, and zebra wood furnishings flow seamlessly with the earth and mountain colors of the painter’s palette. The scale is enormous. Ceilings soar. The great room blends living, cooking, and dining into a single, spatial cocktail served up with a view. A fireplace faced in copper-toned tiles sports a hearth big enough for a family reunion. Seating with a sense of casualness and a scent of leather is focused upon the mountain vistas. Luxury is standard throughout Serenity. Even the “powder room” is an enticing masterpiece of design and accommodation. The kitchen is a chef’s delight and is equipped with top-of-the-line Bosch appliances. A complete inventory of vessels and utensils is at hand to prepare a trail lunch or a banquet. The beverage (or breakfast) bar is a popular hangout until it is time to be seated at table. If you prefer to dine where the songbirds and the hummingbirds flit, the west deck affords spacious outdoor seating and a stunning 180-degree view. A gas grill stands at the ready.
The master bedroom at Serenity is sublime. This king suite is furnished with elegant, over-sized furniture. Your “pillow view” is of peaks named Hallet’s and Flattop cradling the frozen countenance of the Tyndall glacier. Gaze north and the Front Range blends into the Mummy Range of mountains. A raised, see-through fireplace divides the bedroom and the bathroom with its jetted tub and etched-glass shower enclosure. The fixtures and amenities are all of the highest order.
Downstairs there is a family room home theater. Two more bedrooms round out the sleeping compliment. And, just outside on the lower deck, a hot tub beckons with the promise to soothe away the long miles of trekking, the white water dash, or the half-day horse-back ride now history. Relive it all with laughter and with love and cement the memories in your mind and heart. A deer is grazing almost within petting distance and the rest of the world seems far, far away. The very name “Serenity” implies life at its unruffled, placid, and tranquil best. And, “Serenity” at Windcliff offers nothing less.
Guests who have discovered “Serenity” return again and again. And, they leave choice verbal tracks in the Guest Book:
• “What an incredible retreat in the mountains! This house is built with such skill and attention to detail.”
• “Absolutely loved it.”
• “We wanted to ‘stay in’ more often than leave.”
• “The views are breathtaking!”
Although Estes Park [Rocky Mountain National Park’s gateway community] is only 15 minutes distant by car, you will always feel securely tucked away at “Serenity” — separated from the “hustle and bustle” of people and their traffic. The Windcliff enclave embracing “Serenity” is a private residential community comprising 260 acres on the sunny western slopes of Ram’s Horn Mountain. It is served by a single entrance to private roads with no through streets or heavy traffic. It is truly a world apart!
