One of the most popular events in our town is the upcoming — and legendary — Estes Park Elk Fest.
What is the Estes Park Elk Fest?
The Elk Fest is dedicated to celebrating the annual elk rut and the magnificent creature itself, also known as “wapiti” (from the Shawnee and Cree languages). Not only is the festival the absolutely perfect opportunity to experience the beauty (and sounds) of Colorado’s elk, it’s a family friendly event with activities galore.
What’s Happening at this year’s Elk Fest?
Of course, there’s an abundance of elk-related goodness for all ages — including seminars, exhibits, and arts & crafts (all elk-inspired) as well as a special children’s area chock-full of fun and educational activities.
Vendors will also be present and offering an array of artwork, jewelry, and unique elk foodstuffs. Pair this with a craft beer garden and live music each day, and you’ve got a festival that has something for everyone.
Plus, not everything here is elk-themed… the popular “Mountain Man Rendezvous” will be there, as well as the Rocky Mountain Raptor Program. See here for the full list of events. (schedule subject to change.)
