Did you know that Estes Park, Colorado is also known as the “Celtic Capital of North America?” It naturally follows, then, that the Longs Peak Scottish-Irish Highland Festival is an event that has been bringing visitors to our beautiful town for over 40 years.

About the Highland Festival in Estes Park

When it comes to the Highland Festival, it’s hard to think of what ISN’T happening, since there’s so much to see and do.

First, there’s a wide selection of Celtic music from bands including Seamus Kennedy, The Gothard Sisters, The Brigadoons, and more. There’s also Irish dance, Highland dance, and even pipe band competitions. Of course, there’s also a parade (happening on Saturday, September 7th in downtown Estes Park.)

We’re not even close to finished yet. There’s jousting. There’s the Scottish Horse Boarding Competition. And the — new to the Festival — Tattoo Estes USO show, featuring over 300 performers that will fill the Fairgrounds Arena. There’s even something for the dog lover in all of us: with Dog Agility, Sheep Herding, and Disk Dog exhibitions on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Truly an event of epic proportions — you just have to come to Estes Park to see the Highland Festival.

And if you’re looking for a place to stay that goes above and beyond your standard lodging, we invite you to find a Windcliff vacation rental home for the perfect place to refresh after a long weekend of fun and celebration.
